Fifty years after four North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University freshmen sat down at a Woolworth lunch counter  in 1960 projecting Greensboro, NC onto the national and international stage with the beginning of the sit-in movement,  Greensboro business organizations with ties to UNC-Greensboro (UNC-G) working through the Board of Governors (BOG), UNC-General Administration (UNC-A) , and NC General  Assembly maybe be repackaging Jim Crow for the 21st Century as economic development and  jobs enslaving  historical black North Carolina A&T at Gateway Research Park with the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) serving private interest at public’s expense. Gateway Fact Sheet describes itself as an entity created to manage and operate the joint collaboration between NC A&T and UNC-G.  The question becomes:  What collaboration? UNC-G has contributed no original campus land or facilities to the Gateway "Joint" Millennial  Campus.

The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering maybe a Red Flag indicating for National security reasons a law requiring  background vetting for non-government research affiliations and business partners of  NC A&T and others universities and colleges  involved in Federal research.
UNC System decimated against NC A&T with  Masters and PhD.Nanoscience authorizations at UNCG
The "joint" Masters and PhD. Nanoscience degrees proposed at the “Joint” School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering became standalone Masters (Nov. 2009)  and PhD (Jan. 2010) Nanoscience degrees at UNCG which NC A&T is compel to supports.  The Masters and PhD in Nanoscience degrees authorized at UNCG didn’t comply with the UNC policy and procedures pertaining to Interdisciplinary degrees involving more than one campus and other key UNC Policy Manual 400.1.1,1[G]  provisions.  UNCG didn’t submitted stand alone Request to Established Masters and PhD degrees in Nanoscience.
